At Language on Mission, we have fun learning Spanish in the context of God’s love for us. So, these aren’t your traditional Valentine’s cards! They allude to an even greater love, the ULTIMATE kind of love that the Bible speaks about.
Valentine’s Day card in Spanish of Naomi and Ruth
In our Spanish classes we have learned about the special friendship that Ruth and Naomi shared (check it out in Ruth 1) and the beautiful love story of Ruth and Boaz (found in Ruth 2-4). Our cards depict these characters along with Bible verses about love.
Here is the list of vocabulary used so that you can practice with your child as they decorate these cards:
- El amor – Love
- Tiempo – Time
- El amigo – Friend
- Paciente – Patient
- Bondadoso – Kind
- Feliz – Happy
- Abrazo – Hug
- Día del amor y la amistad – Day of love and friendship (i.e. Valentine’s Day)
Here is the full translation of each verse:
- “En todo tiempo ama el amigo.” Proverbios 17:17 – “A friend loves at all times.” Proverbs 17:17
- “El amor es paciente, es bondadoso.” 1 Corintios 13:4 – “Love is patient, it is kind.” 1 Corinthians 13:4
